Hey Santosh,
I see what you are saying. My opinion on this topic:
Tradition should be a building block not a hindrance for progress. Why do we follow Tradition and are scared of embracing change? The answer is simple. It is easy to sit back and follow the age old tradition and not worry about working hard or the consequences of the changes. If some thing goes wrong blame on tradition. And ofcourse on the name of tradition many wrong things are done and many people and organizations are taking advantage of the age old beliefs.
Now when ever somebody talks of change and say that why cant we change immediately comes an answer "its too late now" or "nothing can be done to make it better"
But I do not agree to that at all. For example take our infrastructure - Roads and traffic. Agreed there is not much place with in the cities to build 6 lane roads or some thing like that. But implement strict traffic rules, increase the fines to 1000Rs if you violate green light etc and implement it stringently with out taking bribes and the traffic problem will solve to a certain extent.
If you cant make it best at least make it better. I mean following traffic rules will definetely reduce the congestion that is for sure. Okay to this point some may say bribing is induced into the whole system it is next to impossible to clean up. Where to start?
Well, there are several starting points. It can start from individuals, like minded people can form groups and start some awareness programs, publicize about good practises and how will it better the place we live in forget about the country. Many things can be done. I am sure many people have lots of ideas. Good ones but no body takes initiative thats the problem. Instead of cribbing about the existing problems do some thing if you can to address at least one problem.
Many educated and high earning people are taking initiatives in helping financially several organizations to eradicate poverty etc... We are making progress in some areas. I am sure we can make progress in other areas too but a broad mind, initiative and ready to take some risks kind of attitude will surely help.
We have many people who are smart, we have many people who are ready to work. Right initiative is the only lacking thing here. We need to take any drastic steps. One step at a time can make a huge difference.
Phewwwwwwwwww. I should nt have started writing this. That is the reason I dont like to comment on serious topics ;-)

Excellent sketches Ranjini. Wowwwwwwww you are truly a gifted artist. I will come back to read I just glanced over the pics looking at the title. I still have to read your Itch series :-) Your itch series became a big hit among friends and family :-))))))))))))))
I told my mom and okay this is funny. She actually doesnt understand blogging Okay. She is like why do ppl write about such things and when I tell her I write only about my son or my personal experiences she says why do you publicize like that..........
At this point I told her your 1st itch story. The T shirt idea and all that. At first she was totally confused. She did not know why you had to write about it :-))))) And then I was totally supporting you okay and then she says that girl should be really smart to come up with such nice ideas for such simple thing. See thats how educated ppl think :-))))))))))))
Now I got jealous that she is praising you too much. Added to that I told that your husband is an IITian and a lil of your career story and she is total fida on you :-)
This is how i made my mom who was a non believer a believer ... Ta daaaaaaaa.
